There are three main types of broadband:
ADSL: Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line uses your phone landline to deliver broadband to your property.
Cable broadband: Newer than ADSL, Cable broadband delivers what’s called ‘superfast’ broadband with speeds of at least 30Mbps over cable TV networks.
Fibre broadband: There are two types of fibre broadband. Fibre- to-the-cabinet (FTTC) uses a combination of fibre optic cables, and telephone wires to deliver superfast speeds. The company partnered with mobile phone operator O2 in June 2021, which means their customers can now get deals on services across the two brands.
