UPDATE: The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle following a crash on the city’s East Side.
Ansel Mitchell died from blunt force injuries after being struck around 5:45 p.m. Friday, near the intersection of N. Walters and Dignowity, according to the ME.
Mitchell was taken Brooke Army Medical Center by EMS, but later died.
Police said a white 2015 Chrysler 200 was heading northbound on N. Walters Street and turned left on Dignowity Avenue when a dark blue 2015 Chrysler 300 heading southbound on N. Walters St. struck the Chrysler 200 on the passenger side.
Both vehicles were pushed to a corner of the intersection from the impact and the Chrysler then struck Mitchell, according to SAPD.

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle following a crash on the East Side, according to San Antonio police.
The incident happened around 5:45 p.m. Friday at N. Walters and Dignowity.
Police said the pedestrian was walking near the southwest corner of the intersection when a white 2015 Chrysler 200 was heading northbound on N. Walters Street and turned left on Dignowity Ave.
That’s when a dark blue 2015 Chrysler 300 heading southbound on N. Walters St. struck the Chrysler 200 on the passenger side.
The Chrysler 200 violated the right of way of the Chrysler 300 and both vehicles were pushed to the southwest corner of the intersection from the impact. The Chrysler 200 then struck the pedestrian, according to SAPD.
The pedestrian was taken to the Brooke Army Medical Center by EMS, but later died from their injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the Chrysler 200 for Municipal Court warrants. No charges are pending in this incident and no other injuries were reported.
